dear friends:
internetoflife is my thesis. Named Ghazaleh Etezal-Khiabani by birth and having Toronto defined as my home since 1996, I have grown to become an expressive, inquisitive, and conceptual female Iranian visual and verbal communicator/designer, graduating from OCAD in April 2008. internetoflife is my designed interpretation of today's global 'book'. I want words to communicate my culture / our culture because words express who I am / who we are.
My thesis started with my passion and vision for using Internet's tools to design a platform for collaboration of skills to facilitate making things happen for the benefit of humanity. Then I started questioning what I was doing with who I was and where I was going with what I was doing. In my final two semesters of university, my desired outcome started fluctuating by what I was learning and exploring in other courses, ongoing experiences, various books, and my own intuition. I then began leaning towards showing the process of problem-solving and its interdependence on all levels. Then I said I'm going to write a book and host a talkshow. And now, here I am with internetoflife.
Thesis is a never ending outcome; it is experience having a continual impact on defining life's journey; it's change. Thesis isn't school – it's you and what you learn... to do. Its objective is sustainable problem-solving, happiness and positive impact that determines success.
My project aims to communicate the process of thesis in the most effective language. The objective is to show that we are all connected – our thoughts, emotions and actions are deeply rooted in our perceptions.
My philosophy comes from experience, nature and wisdom. I believe in the power of people, communication, and creativity, to change ones own life and determine humanity's future. internetoflife is the art of interdependent, interrelated and interconnected living.
I am interested in you, as I'm certain others are too – that is the only way internetoflife works. I invite you to share your interpretation of 'internetoflife'; I invite you to speak and be heard. I encourage you to reveal your true identity through your wisdom, knowledge and practice; your frustrations, pains and confusions; your happiness, passions and ambitions; your inspirations, observations and values; your blessings, growth and change; your love, practice and obsessions, and even your pessimism, apathy and anger.
I pressure you to use a pen, a keyboard and your time to write for yourself. Every mind is unique; every mind is creative. internetoflife embraces you as an individual in a network of words.
Join me in this journey as the collective writes the new book of what's already there.
