This is a 20 minute, unedited and unprepared reflection on life / thesis / end of school recorded on May 8, 2008, the Opening Reception for OCAD Gradution Exhibition. The previous video reflection (edited from 30 to 12 minutes) on December 9, 2007, can be seen here. I am posting these because I believe in self-reflection in the process of doing. Documentation helps you stay true to who you are and communicates your intentions. Speech is identity. Practice speech.
internetoflife, at this point in time, is a participatory email-based research project conducted (unplanned) on March 29, 2008 in order to finish the first edition of internetoflife as a matrix of identity for April 28, 2008.

A request was sent to everyone I knew, starting with the people in my thesis research group on Facebook called Which Led To. I sent emails to as many people as I could. I gave people two weeks to submit something to my request for words to stand as their identity. My Facebook profile page was a snapshot of the main page of the website for the 2 week span. I spoke one-on-one with some people and explained the project, but the people who responded were ones who were interested in writing from a topic that encouraged creativity and expression of the individual voice.
I did not force anyone to do this. I was not begging anyone. I only encouraged people to participate by telling them to have fun with it.
I then used a colour-coding manual that I had designed over the last semester of my thesis project. I have three levels of three that accumulatively and progressively reflect who you/we are (identity), culture (community) and the impact of doing (outcome). I did not explain the logic behind the colour-coding; I left it for curiosity and aimed to surprise the participants with how I would execute the submissions.

I'll soon write a complete reflection of how I got here from my original goal in September 2006 to design a social network facilitating collaboration for completion of projects and pursuits.
